Jordan Rosenow’s Ground Current sources metal studs and high-voltage glass and ceramic insulators to create an aquamarine and clay fountain suspended within a stainless steel frame and overtaken by purple and gold and pink pollinator plants. The work places industrial infrastructure in relationship with living systems, asking what it might look like for technology, energy, and land to exist in a more reciprocal relationship. As water moves through the installation and returns to the plants below, Ground Current turns scarcity, electricity, and ecological dependence into a physical system visitors can witness.
Presented as part of Upstate Art Weekend and Unison’s inaugural Triennial.
