Chinese Brush Painting
with Maxine Leu

Join Maxine for a relaxing, creative, and meditative experience!
In this series of classes, you’ll be introduced to the spontaneous style of Chinese brush painting, exploring the Four Treasures of Study, the symbolism of the Four Gentlemen plants, as well as animals and landscapes.
You’ll learn foundational techniques such as brush holding, strokes, water control, composition in Eastern painting, and creating your own signature.
This class is beginner-friendly, with all tools and materials provided. If you’d like to purchase your own set, a recommended supply list is available upon request.

Maxine Leu is an interdisciplinary artist, art educator, and environmentalist from Taiwan. She received her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture at the State University of New York at New Paltz and her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Tainan University of Technology (TUT), Tainan, Taiwan. Her work focuses on the environment, communication, and identity. Leu has been promoting workshops about Printmaking, Sculpture, Eco-friendly and recycling Art, and Traditional Chinese Art in a number of places since 2015.
