Flamenco Dance Workshop with Anna Mazo “Flamenco For Everyone” is an introductory workshop that will give dancers the basics of how to dance to a flamenco bulerias or tangos. Dancers will learn the structure of a “pataita” (short solo) and how to pair it with the structure of the singing. No prior dance experience is necessary, just an open mind and lots of enthusiasm. This class will be accompanied by live singing and guitar which is a rare treat when studying flamenco dance. We will end with a flamenco jam with the other guitar and percussion students so everyone can practice their new skills in a live flamenco session! Dancers aged 12 years old and up are welcome.
Flamenco Guitar/Rhythm Workshop with Mario Rincon & Mike Diago Participants are encouraged to bring guitars, percussion instruments, and their own 2 hands! Guitarists will learn basic chord progressions typically used in Flamenco performances or tangos. Workshop participants will be learning Bulerias 12 count; the heartbeat of Flamenco that brings everyone together. This complex rhythm opens up a world of syncopation! Participation and collaboration are the name of the game in Flamenco…
