Wildlife Program

with Mark Perpetua

A Reptile Encounter will give you a close up look at a fascinating group of animals, the reptiles of course! Reptile expert, Mark Perpetua, will both educate and entertain while he discusses the role of these animals in ecology. Watch as he handles alligators, rattlesnakes and gets 'wrapped up' with a python. Other reptile-friends may include a large snapping turtle, iguana or rattlesnake. He may also bring a feathered-friend, a macaw parrot. Reptile Encounters is owned and operated by Mark Perpetua. Mark is a high school biology teacher and naturalist from Saugerties, NY. He has spent many years working with reptiles and educating the public. Mark holds a Masters degree from the State University at New Paltz. He did his thesis on python breeding and genetics. Mark also spent 6 years working with an accredited reptile zoo while he maintained his own collection.
