Stuart Bigley
paintings and drawings

"My artwork for the past several years has been an exploration of color, space and the mark. The work relates to music as much as it does to the visual experience. Subtlety in color and the repetition of the mark bring forth a textured rhythm much as notes function in music. This work is not really conceptual as much as it is experiential. The process of allowing the work to evolve is of primary importance. I rarely start a paint- ing with more concept than the palette of colors and the shape and size of the canvas."

Stuart Bigley is Unison's Executive Director and co-founder. He has been painting for over 45 years. This exhibition will include abstract paintings and figure drawings. Bigley has been in numerous solo and group shows in Washington DC, NYC, Connecticut and Ulster County.
