Ro Calhoun
Walls of Healing

Ro Calhoun is a New Paltz artist who regularly exhibits her work, teaches at SUNY New Paltz and is currently earning an MFA in printmaking. She created the interactive installation Walls of Healing in response to her husband's experiences with life-threatening illness. Its purpose is to assist those who are impacted by cancer. This will be a space where one can express oneself through written text and visual images and experience that one is not alone. It is an opportunity to heal collectively. These are Walls of Healing from the war of cancer, which traumatizes its victims as well as those who go through the battle with them. As an interactive installation, all who are impacted by this illness are invited to express themselves in the manner that suits them best.
