Norman Turner
five paintings, five drawings

Landscape painter Norman Turner was a founding student of the New York Studio School where he studied with Mercedes Matter, Charles Cajori, Esteban Vicente and George Spaventa. A traveling show of his work recently toured Wright State University, Knox College, Haverford College and the New York Studio School. He has had seventeen solo shows and has participated in over thirty group shows. Turner considers himself a modernist, a third-generation New York School artist, and a descendant of de Kooning, Pollock and Hans Hoffman, although he works from direct observation.
