The Nields
Nerissa & Katryna

"Nerissa and Katryna Nields plead guilty to grand theft on Sister Holler, a celebration of folk traditions and the notion that good artists borrow, great artists steal. As a songwriter, Nerissa casts a wide net that captures spirituals, sea chanteys and even Pachelbel, with their signature tight vocal, banjo and mandolin harmonies." Mike Joyce, Washington Post

By the fall of '94, The Nields were a full-fledged five-piece acoustic rock explosion. The critical kudos were coming in, with The Boston Globe commenting simply, "The Nields are young. They are hip. They are hot." These days, Nerissa and Katryna are performing as a duo. Just a few years older they are still very hip and very hot, and their latest release, Sister Holler (their 14th album) brings them back to their folk roots while at the same time showcasing their growth as musicians and songwriters.
