Partnering the Moment: Improvisation as a Way of Being

Master Class with Dance Monks

Rodrigo Esteva and Mirah Moriarty have been dancing as partners for over ten years. They offer movement training that focuses on physically challenging investigations and structures that sharpen one's capacity to listen to the environment and one another. Participants explore techniques and strategies that they have developed throughout the years to connect to one another through breath, awareness, and clear impulse. A special emphasis is put on our capacity to listen with the whole body in order to create dances that are connected, powerful and honest.

Rodrigo Esteva & Mirah Moriarty are the founding directors of DANCE MONKS, an internationally traveled company newly based in the Hudson Valley. They have taught throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Peru and abroad in renowned festivals, universities, schools and programs. They are most known for their innovative environmental education through the arts programs.
