Lipbone Redding
blues & jazz

"Lipbone Redding creates original songs that effervesce with New Orleans swing, Memphis grooves, and New York City style."<.i> Baltimore City News

Inventive "voice-strumentalist" and southern gentleman, Lipbone Redding creates original songs that jump and jive with uncanny riffs of vocal trumpeting, booming mouth percussion, hilarious side moments and witty, soulful esoteric lyrics. Lipbone can be seen and heard regularly at New York City's must "see and be seen" French jazz and blues cafe, JULES. He has performed at New York City's Lincoln Center and opened for Hot Buttered Rum String Band and Dr. John. His music has been licensed for movies, animations and by FOX and HBO. Most recently Lipbone performed and co-composed with the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company's world premiere of "Chapel/Chapter" and received rave reviews in The New York Times and The Village Voice. Lipbone Redding is the only person we know who sounds like a trombone and trumpet without actually playing them. He will be accompanied by bassist Jeff Eyrich, founding member of Dave's True Story.
