Kathleen Petrillo
photographs

Kathleen Petrillo is a Hudson Valley native who has had various shows in Atlanta, GA, Brooklyn, Poughkeepsie and New Paltz, NY. She describes her work and process as the following:

When I paint I try to let things happen as they would like which I then overlap with very deliberate strokes, a form of chaos with control, emulating what power we all have over our own daily lives. I try to convey this in my photographs as well, leaving a lot to chance. The strange shadows cast by twilight and diffused sunlight are my inspiration. My passion is to portray the serenity of chaos in a captured moment.
