A hot evening with the coolest of the cool: Betty MacDonald, Mike Mainieri, Jay Anderson & Dennis Mackrel. Four jazz greats gather for an evening of solos, duets and quintets. Long-time Woodstock resident Betty MacDonald is well-known as an outstanding jazz violinist, vocalist and composer. Bassist/composer Jay Anderson has been performing with Red Rodney & Ira Sullivan, Michael Brecker, Toots Thielemans, Michael Franks and the great Joe Sample. Award-winning vibraphonist / producer / composer / arranger Mike Mainieri has toured with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra and has played with such legendary artists as Billie Holiday, Dizzy Gillespie, Coleman Hawkins and Wes Montgomery. Dennis Mackrel is the leader and drummer of The Manhattan Symphony Jazz Orchestra. His compositions and arrangements have been performed by The Count Basie Orchestra, The McCoy Tyner Big Band & The Woody Herman Band.
