Fiddler's Dream III southern routes
with Jay Ungar & Molly Mason, Christine Balfa & Balfa Toujours and Dirk Powell & Riley Baugus

Southern Roots abound as Jay Ungar & Molly Mason join the premiere Louisiana Cajun band Christine Balfa & Balfa Toujours, featuring Courtney Granger and superstar fiddler Dirk Powell. Powell will also perform old-time music with North Carolinian banjo master Riley Baugus. Balfa appeared in the film "The Big Easy" with her father, Dewey Balfa. Baugus plays on the new Alison Krauss/Robert Plant album "Raising Sand." He and Powell played together in the film "Cold Mountain." Powell has performed and recorded with Loretta Lynn, Sting, Jack White, Levon Helm, Jewel, T-Bone Burnett, Ralph Stanley and Linda Ronstadt.

These musicians are all stars of American traditional music, honoring the past while helping propel it into the future. Jay & Molly first worked with them at their Ashokan Fiddle & Dance Camps and are thrilled to have this stellar group of musicians on board for this year's Fiddlers Dream extravaganza.

This performance is made possible by support from The New York State Music Fund, established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.
