"The smart lyrics are complemented by a warm combination of country, folk, jazz, and circus music: Think a less strange latter-day Tom Waits, or a more strange Fairground Attraction." John Bergstrom, Pop Matters
The Dust Poets are a five-piece acoustic folk-pop group with roots deep in the Canadian prairie. Well known for their infectious spirit, powerful stage presence, genre-bending originals and juicy harmony singing, they poke affectionate fun at themselves and the world around them. Their lively, funny, wise lyrics create caricatures of small town life and big city delusions, evoking gritty folk-rock, quirky country-bluegrass, and soaring piano-pop. They have performed extensively across Canada and the U.S. Murray D. Evans — vocals, guitar, harmonica, Karla Ferguson — vocals, accordion, Corey Ticknor — mandolin, vocals, Sean McManus — clarinet, suitcase, percussion, vocals, Gord Mowat — acoustic bass.
