Take a look at our calendar. There's always something happening at Unison Arts Center. And Unison is for everyone — we are wheel chair accessible, we have a variety of programs for families and we're a great place to meet old friends — and make new ones!
Unison Arts Center is a non-for-profit organization located in a lovely rural setting just 1 mile from the Village of New Paltz, NY on the road to Mohonk Mountain House. For additional information and a current program and description of events, classes, workshops, etc. just call (845) 255-1559 or email to info@UnisonArts.org.
Directions: NYS Thruway Rt 87 to New Paltz exit 18. Turn left and go 1 1/4 mi. through center of town to steel bridge. Make first right onto Springtown Rd. Proceed 1/2 mi. Make left at fork onto Mountain Rest Rd. Go 1/2 mile. Unison is on your left--look for the sign.
Look at our map.
Basic membership provides you with the Unison program guide, reduced prices on performances, classes and workshops, and free admission to special member events. For you, we also waive the credit card fee. Higher categories confer addition benefits.
Every concert we do needs volunteers — for the food table, the box office, CD sales, ushering... Help us out and see the show for free! If you'd like to volunteer, please e-mail kitty@unisonarts.org or call 255-1559. We'd like to know your preference for type of event and phone number or an e-mail address with best times to contact you.
Our Board of Directors share a commitment to cultural diversity that is reflected in their active participation in every aspect of Unison's programming. Our staff includes a full-time Executive Director, a part-time Special Projects Director and three part-time office workers who share a flex-time schedule.
Unison has received support from Dobkin Family Foundation, Hedlund Family Foundation, Kingston Klock Foundation, Rotonda Foundation, IBM, the New York State Council on the Arts, Nyquist Family Foundation, Poets and Writers, Turkey Bush Foundation, Ulster Savings Bank, Julien Studley New Vista Foundation, the Ulster County Legislature as well as numerous other private foundations, corporations and individuals.
Two cornerstones of UnisonŐs financial stability are our Members and our Arts Partners. Our 500 members support many of our free public arts programs such as our two galleries and two sculpture gardens.
Our Arts Partners account for almost 10% of our annual budget by sponsoring individual concerts and other events throughout the year. These are, for the most part, local small business owners, and we ask that our community show its appreciation by clicking ARTS PARTNERS, and using this page as your business resource telephone book.
Unison has an annual budget of over $290,000. Program fees, registrations and ticket sales do not cover the expense of presenting the performing arts, providing classroom space, and running summer programs for children. By soliciting volunteer labor, relying on donations of "big ticket" items like computers, web design, and technical support, and combining grants from public, private and corporate institutions and individuals we keep costs as low as possible while presenting a full calendar of enriching, exciting and innovative programs. Welcome to Unison!
